It's All Been Done

I met you before the fall of Rome
And I begged you to let me take you home
You were wrong, I was right
You said goodbye, I said goodnight

It's all been done
It's all been done
It's all been done before

I knew you before the west was won
And I heard you say the past was much more fun
You go your way, I go mine
but I'll see you next time

It's all been done
It's all been done
It's all been done before

And if I put my fingers here, and if I say "I love you, dear"
And if I play the same three chords, will you just yawn and say

It's all been done
It's all been done
It's all been done before

Alone and bored on a thirtieth-century night
Will I see you on The Price Is Right?
Will I cry? Will I smile?
As you run down the aisle

It's all been done
It's all been done
It's all been done before

It's All Been Done (Single)

Disc 1: All Their Greatest Hits (1991-2001)
Stunt Version:
Jim Creeggan: Electric Bass, Vocals.
Kevin Hearn: Keyboards, Vocals.
Steven Page: Lead Vocal, Acoustic & Electric Guitars.
Ed Robertson: Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Vocals.
Tyler Stewart: Drums, Percussion, Vocals.
with
Natacha Hérbert: Parlez Français.

After hearing our song "Brian Wilson" on the radio and being a little embarrased at how wordy it was, I decided to write something with "Woo Hoo Hoo" as the chorus. In the middle, we had Andy Creeggan's wife, Natacha, speak French over the telephone for us. I don't even know what she's saying.

We had high hopes for this song, but when we made our only appearance on MTV's Total Request Live, Carson Daly called it "It's All Been Good." That's when I knew it was all over.
